Follow the Race: Kromvojoj 2022

20th May 2022 sees the start of the inaugural Kromvojoj Race.

Kromvojoj draws inspiration from the very landscape it traverses through. ‘Kromvojoj’ (pronounced Krom-voy-oi) is a word in Esperanto that describes possible and diverse paths, which encapsulates the ethos behind the event, in which the route takes in varied back roads and ancillary paths through historic towns and villages of Catalonia, Spain.

Dots to watch:

Matt Ryan

Pan Celtic Race organiser and close friend of Restrap Matt Ryan ('The Chief') will be taking on the race this year. No stranger to riding big miles at a big pace, Matt is aiming at the pointy end of the race, so he'll be a great dot to watch.

We'll be posting stories from The Chief throughout the race on our instagram page, which .

We also asked Matt to film a quick bike check for us. He did it in his usual style, which you can view here:

Anna Bello

One of the aims of Kromvojoj is to introduce the world of ultra-distance to cyclists who have not yet attempted to take up the challenge, while at the same time promoting diversity in participation. For this reason, Kromvojoj annually supports a cyclist who has never participated in an ultra-distance event.

For the first edition, Anna Bello, a mountain biker with years of experience in XCM races, will be taking on the challenge of her first experience in a self sufficient ultra endurance race.
